Though given its constitution in 1158 by Frederick I Barbarossa, emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, historians have traced its founding returned to 1088, making the university of Bologna the oldest constantly- running college in records. The college of Bologna has come a long way inside the last thousand years, from being the primary to use the phrase college to a staple of modern-day training boasting 2850 academic staff participants, and 82,000 college students.
